Skills oder auch "Perks" in Fallout 4 werden anhand eines in-game Posters verwaltet. Es gibt insgesamt 70 Fertigkeiten, zugehörig den S.P.E.C.I.A.L. Attributen also je 10 Skills. Die Skills sind in Ränge unterteilt und daraus ergeben sich 275 mögliche Ränge. Der Spieler erhält pro Level einen Skillpunkt. Diese neuen Möglichkeiten im Level-System erhöhen die Anzahl verschiedener Builds und ermöglichen mehr Variationen im Spielverlauf.
